Common Questions

How fast can I get my order?
Most orders are printed and ready to ship within 24 hours - many are shipped the same day as they are received. We use USPS Priority mail for almost all orders, which usually takes 2-3 days. Express shipping is available as is UPS Next Day, but both can be very expensive. Priority Mail is a flat $7.95 per order - Express Mail and Next Day UPS are billed at actual cost.

To get the best quantity price do all prints have to be of the same image?
No - our pricing and quantity breaks are based on the total number of prints of any one size - regardless of the number of different images.

I need some help with my image - do you offer any design services?
Sure - we can help layout your image and email you a proof for approval. We may charge you a design fee depending on the amout of work needed.

Can I email you an image/order?
Yes, but we would prefer that you use one of our ordering systems - especially ROES as it is an excellent system and shows cropping and collects billing info and what not. If you are having trouble using ROES you can email us an image and some basic info on what you need and we will call you. Our email address is orders@qprints.com

Should I order Glossy or Pro Luster finish? Is one better than the other?
This all depends on what you prefer - Glossy is shiny and can sometimes give the appearence of being more sharp/crisp. Glossy prints also pickup finger prints very easily. Pro Luster is a non-shiny finish that has a very slight texture to it - it is not completely flat matte. It also is a thicker paper, which makes it more durable and has a better dmax, meaning that black is actually blacker on Pro Luster than it is on Glossy. Both make great prints, and other than one being shiny and the other not look pretty much the same.

What type of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa and Mastercard. If you need to pay with an American Express card (or a Pay Pal account), we can do that thru Pay Pal. To do this, simply leave a note in the special instructions of ROES and then in the credit card field type in all 5's. This will allow your order to go thru. Once we see your request for American Express we will send you a Pay Pal request - Pay Pal accepts American Express as well as all the other major cards - and Pay Pal of course.

Do you only deal with certain customers? only Pro's? or only large quantity customers?
No, we are pretty much open to everyone. We do have a minimum order of $15, but anyone can use us. Our clients are a mix of big clients who need 100's of 8x10's, Pro's who need lots of different sized prints and the average consumer who is looking for quality prints at a great price.

Can you ship my order directly to my client?
Yes - this is called Drop Shipping - and is available in ROES when checking out. No invoice, pricing or mention of our lab will be included, just a packing slip with your name and address.

What color space should my files be?
We recommend that your files be in the sRGB color space as that is closest to the color space of our printer, but we have a fully color managed workflow, so as long as your images as tagged with their profile, it does not matter if you send us files that are Adobe 98 or Pro Photo RGB or any other color space.

Help - ROES is not working correctly - can you help me?
Sure - give us a call, and if we cannot help you over the phone, we can set up an online meeting where we can see your computer and figure out what is wrong.

I have never heard of your company, but you have great prices - who are you?
Ahhh... we get this sometimes. Qprints is a division of Fromex Photo Lab, Inc. - a lab that has been serving the San Diego area since 1982. We came up with Qprints as a way to focus on our most important service - traditional photographic prints. This is our core service, and we wanted a way to market it to more than just our local San Diego area. Fromex was once a franchise with locations all over the country, some of which are still around today. To get around the "Fromex confusion" Qprints was born in 2009. Long story short, in San Diego we go by Fromex Pro Lab, and every where else Qprints. If you are in San Diego, we recommend you check out http://fromexprolab.com.
