Ordering Units and Package Prints

You can order either individually or by creating packages. If you choose the Batch Order button on the Units/Package Prints catalog you can create packages that contain more than one print layout. For example you could have a Package A that has an 8x10, 2-5x7s and 8 wallets, then you could add any number of pictures as that package and they would all be added to the cart at once.

You Must Review the Cropping on Units/Package Prints

If you use the Batch Order method to order images you will be required to review the cropping. This is because the system needs to know the exact rotation and cropping of the images before it builds the layout files. Reviewing the cropping is fairly easy, you can use the left/right arrow keys to tab thru the images, just don't go too fast.

Need Lots of Units? Other Ways to do the Layouts

Our ordering system works well for smaller amounts of images, but it isn't the best way to do the packages if you have 100s of pictures to do. Adobe Lightroom does a really good job of creating unit layouts and packages (see the videos below), so does Darkroom Software. You can then export/save the files from either of those programs and then just batch order regular 8x10 prints (don't use the units catalog). Then you can skip the cropping step.

Better Sorting - Units are Printed as 8x10 Even if they Could be 7x10

We print all unit layouts as 8x10 prints even if they could be 7x10 as this helps them sort better. We also print all units in order by filename regardless of the quantity needed of each. So if you have some layouts that have a quantity of 3 and others are quantity 1, they will all still sort next to each other if they are the same file. If we didn't do this the prints would be printed in batches by quantity first, then filename and you would have a harder time sorting them out by individual.
